When a prognosis promises only continued decline, or when an ongoing trial settles into an untenable status quo, the advice usually offered by well-meaning observers loses its traction. You are told to "stay strong," to "find the joy in the journey," or to "claim your breakthrough." But when your physical body, your emotional reserves, or your neurological capacity is steadily draining, the energy required to muster up "drive" or "felt joy" simply does not exist. At that boundary, a heavy question settles in: If I can no longer feel the drive to serve, if I am simply exhausted and dragging myself through each day, am I failing? There is something remarkable hidden in plain sight throughout much of the Old Testament. God has a name. Not merely a description. Not merely a title. Not merely a position of authority. A name. In the Hebrew Scriptures, that name appears over six thousand times as four Hebrew consonants: יהוה, commonly represented in English as YHWH and frequently rendered Yahweh .
